Hayman’s Gin: Inside the Home of English Gin

If you were lucky enough to be in London over this gloriously hot and sunny summer, you’ll have probably heard about the red carpet we’d rolled out at the newly opened Hayman’s Gin distillery in Balham, as well as a host of other amazing events.

It all started when Hayman’s decided to return to London, moving their main distillery back to where it all started in the Big Smoke. The team at Hayman’s came to us with the task of raising awareness of their new distillery, and transform it into a destination for local tourism.
Hayman’s Gin is proud of its rich 155-year history, and the distillery – better known as ‘the Home of English Gin’ – is a celebration of that heritage and the future of the brand. The distillery gives gin-lovers insight into how the team at Hayman’s make their gin, but tours and cocktail masterclasses aren’t the only way to make use of such a unique space…

Working closely with the team at Hayman’s Gin, we launched a series of events in 2018: from a partnership with master chocolatier William Curley to hosting an opera live in the distillery and the Hayman’s Ginema experience.

First launching in May featuring drink-themed films like Breakfast at Tiffany’s and The Hangover, Ginema was such a rousing success that Hayman’s decided to do it all over again. A second series premiered in September with four ‘Back To School’ classics:

  • The Breakfast Club
  • Grease
  • Rushmore
  • Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

All attending gin-loving cinephiles received bespoke True English Gin cocktails inspired by each film and a complimentary G&T before getting cosy on the beanbags in this rather unique pop-up cinema.

All in all, we secured coverage for both events in Elle, Secret London, Evening Standard, Time Out and OK! Magazine, among others. All the events were fully sold out, with not an empty bean bag in sight (and quite a few empty glasses!)
With strong coverage in print and online media, as well as some crafty social media campaigns, all of these events have successfully turned Hayman’s distillery into the destination they always knew it could be (it’s now the #21 best ‘Thing to do in London’ according to Tripadvisor!)
