Following a competitive pitch, Spider retains it's long-standing client Peperami for 6th year in a row

Award-winning independent PR and digital agency, Spider, has retained its long-standing client Peperami, for the 6th year in a row.

Following a competitive pitch against six leading PR and Social Media agencies within the industry, Spider has come out on top.

In 2023, Spider will deliver a retained PR and social media programme, alongside creative campaigns to drive fame and earned media for the brand.

As a 40-year-old business, Peperami continues to produce a diverse range of meat snacks targeted at young adults and families. The brand has recently diversified its range and entered the vegetarian market launching its Vegerami Chick’nless Bites and Vegerami stick range.

Since working with Peperami, Spider has helped the brand become a £100m business and achieved industry recognition for several of the campaigns they have worked on together.

This includes the recent Peperami Wedding campaign in collaboration with creative agency, Forever Beta, to support the new brand ethos – ‘we all go a bit Peperami’.

The contract renewal comes at an exciting time for Spider who has recently appointed new MD, Amy Williams. With her solid background in sectors key to Spider’s portfolio and with an exceptional ability to run successful teams, Amy takes over the responsibility of growing the agency and consolidating its unique proposition of guaranteed PR and social media accountability.

Amy comments: “We are thrilled to have won the Peperami business again, and we look forward to taking the brand from strength-to-strength next year. It’s an exciting time for Spider moving into 2023 – we have a strong team, a diverse range of clients and a thriving new digital business structure.”

Charlotte Clarke, Director at Spider, lead the pitch having worked on the brand since 2016.

She comments: “As an agency, we most enjoy working with clients who are bold, ambitious and ready to have some fun. With Peperami, we’ve found just that – they’re a cheeky brand and always want to put a smile on Brits’ faces.

On a personal level, I have been very fortunate to have watched Peperami grow over the last six years and have had the opportunity to work with an incredible team of talented people.

Alongside creative agency ForeverBeta and media buying agency 7Stars, we are looking to push boundaries in 2023 with more creative campaigns, continuing our mission to make Peperami the snack of choice in shopping baskets across the country.”

Ilona Weijdeveld, Senior Brand Manager at Peperami comments: “We have a fantastic relationship with the team at Spider, we put our upmost trust in the team, and they deliver consistent results for our business.

“Although the pitch was competitive, their creativity and understanding of the Peperami audience allowed them to continue working with us for the sixth year in a row. We are excited to see our relationship continue to flourish in the next year and hope to create more award-winning campaigns together.”
